BDX
Wine
McHenry Hohnen BDX is a Bordeaux style blend, mostly Malbec with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, sourced from the winery's southernmost Hazel's vineyard.
In the winery, each variety is handled separately. Most of the fruit is destemmed but not crushed into concrete fermenters to retain whole berries, leading to a more perfumed wine.
After 2-3 weeks on skins, each parcel is gently pressed to French oak barrels, a small proportion new. The wine is aged for more than a year before it is blended and bottled.
Crimson purple, McHenry Hohnen BDX has the Malbec's juicy dark fruit flavours, the Cabernet's structure and the Petit Verdot's lift. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
